Tia-Monique Uzor is a dance researcher at the beginning of her career. Her research explores issues of identity, cultural traffic, popular dance and sexuality within African and the African Diasporic Dance. She aspires to contribute in bringing discourses around dance of Africa and the African diaspora to the forefront within academia in the United Kingdom.
Aside from research Tia-Monique is also interested in the creative process, and has had the opportunity to work with choreographers and creators such as Akram Khan. She currently exploring her own movement practice.
Tia-Monique also teaches on the BA hons in Dance course at De Montfort University.
