Thesis Title: Manipulating Mutations: Representations of Genetic Science in Transatlantic Science Fiction, 1985-2015.
Thesis Description:
I am interested in the conversation between popular fiction, popular science, and science fiction. My research questions explore the ways that authors like Margaret Atwood, Iain Banks, Robert J Sawyer, and Greg Bear represent genetic science compared to the progress of real world scientific development and its application within medicinal therapies for disabled people.
