It’s been a busy few weeks and we want to give as many of you as possible an opportunity to participate in this event, so we’ve decided to extend the deadline for abstracts to Friday 5 January at midday. If you haven’t yet visited the Viking exhibition at the Djanogly Gallery, there’s still time to drop by (see Lakeside’s website for Christmas opening times) and choose the artefact you’d like to use for your talk. All the New Perspectives information is on our webpage and you are welcome to contact me with any queries.
Here’s what one of the previous participants had to say about their experience: "Partaking in the 'New Perspectives' event gave me the opportunity not only to consider my research from a different angle, but to gain valuable public speaking experience outside of the conference/classroom setting. Although I am confident presenting to my peers, speaking to the general public is a slightly different (but equally essential) skill. The training provided by staff in the weeks before the event was invaluable in acquiring and honing those skills, and the experience overall was both enjoyable and hugely enriching." (Anna Cruse)
